News of the Day
These are crazy times, I mean really crazy. It is nigh impossible to listen to the news of the day without encountering bizarre, cruel, hateful, acts every damn day. Somewhere, some terrorist has managed to kill dozens of people they don’t even know. It’s not just ISIS, in fact most of the biggest terrorist acts in our own country were committed by our own citizens and most of them white, which is not to deny every race, every religion, every culture, or any other group is not participating in this new phenomenon. There are individuals who cut the baby out of the womb of a pregnant gal in order to have a baby themselves, instances where someone cuts off the head of another and carries it around, mothers murdering their kids, cops killing suspects simply out of anger, citizens killing cops at random simply out of anger, kids tormenting other kids on the internet until they commit suicide, individuals blowing up buildings, planes; we have governments filling the skies in various places with smart bombs, drones which can blow up selected cars, buildings, political or religious leaders; one in every 122 humans is now either a refugee, internally displaced, or seeking asylum. Wow.
This week a trial is taking place with a new twist:
If there has ever been any doubt to to veracity of the quotation, “Violence begets violence”, we are learning how true it is the hard way. The truth is that everyone, every group, every nation, now has the ability to create effective violent acts. Trump wants more atomic bombs. Hell, the thousands we have now have been useless to stop all the violence occurring. All our weaponry has not enabled us to win any war waged in 60 years, excepting Granada and the Balkans. The only group winning anything the last 60 years have been the wealthy, who have engineered a playing field where the wealthy now own like ninety percent of the wealth in most every country in the world, regardless of the form of government. This won’t last much longer because it simply can’t—any more than women could be held down forever, or slaves, or gays, or any group not allowed to have full citizenship and rights. Evolution is slow but it does move forward in terms of justice and advanced civilizations.
Bernie was the first to see what others are about to witness come to some sort of chaotic crisis mode. It really is sad. I guess we just brace ourselves as best we can. Behind it all: Human overpopulation.
We are everywhere, like ants and locusts, devouring everything in our way and now we are starting to devour each other. Not good.
